A cozy corner shop, run with real SQL

DataMart is a cozy shop sim where the till, the stock room and the town's secrets all live in a real database, and the only way to run it is with real SQL.

You've just taken over Wren's little supermarket in the town of Joinville. Stock the shelves, set your prices and open the doors. Then keep the shop alive by asking your database the right questions.

🛒 Run the shop

• Place shelves, fridges and produce bins, and fill them from the deliveries in the yard.
• Customers wander in, pick up goods, queue at the counter and leave with their paper bags.
• Set your prices, watch what sells, and catch what's about to expire.

💾 Run it with real SQL

• Every query is real PostgreSQL. A real database server ships with the game.
• Build your own tables, then query them: WHERE, JOIN, GROUP BY, CTEs and more, bought as upgrades on the Skill Tree as the shop grows.
• Customers ask questions only a query can answer. Reply with the result.
• A full SQL IDE: tabs, history, saved statements, autocomplete and a schema browser.

🏘️ Explore Joinville

• Walk the whole town: the park and its pond, the church and its cemetery, the café, the library, the tech school.
• Talk to anyone. Some townspeople have stories, and solving them takes a query against the church's parish records, the library's catalogue or the café's order book.
• Every story you finish ends in a scene and a polaroid for your Memories Book.
• Read the town paper, the Joinville Gazette. Its pages hold clues too.

• Day and night, rain and puddles, buses, cars and people going about their day.
• Index, the shop cat, who naps on the office desk.

🧪 Alpha build

This is an early alpha. Expect rough edges, missing pieces, and saves that may not carry over to later versions. Feedback is very welcome in the comments below.
